Everyone thinks of changing the world and no one thinks of changing himself… Said Leo Tolstoy and countless others - countless I say. I think more people have said this - to change ourselves than to change the world. It hinges on a stoic position, that one cannot influence or change things, not even one other person, but one can in fact change himself for he is in control of his own acts and of himself perhaps. It may be more motivated by stylistic intent than anything else, this saying. There are few that want to change the world, and those ought to be praised, not turned inward, into the self, twisted and contorted back into pointing and obsessing over one's actions.
For in changing the world and others, even one man, we may become who we ought to be.
Seek to change the world and don't look back, for somewhere I read, Love one another as I have loved you, to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, to labor for the body of Christ rather than for oneself.
